What is the best season to get my Cedar maintained?

You might be surprised that there’s no ‘best season’ for maintenance of your cedar. In fact, winter is an excellent time. Your cedar has been knocked about by the summer sun and New Zealand’s harsh UV rays. Your cladding is like your house’s skin – it needs nourishment, relief and protection.

While in winter there will be much less of your cedar’s greatest enemy – those UV rays – there will be harsh winds and driving rain for it to contend with. Damaging moss and mildew can get a toe hold if your timber has not been protected with a gentle wash and a deep penetrating oiling. Unless it’s actually raining we can wash your cladding and come back in a couple of days to apply our proprietary Wood-X oil. It begins penetrating immediately – repelling rain from the start.
