|PROJECT TYPE||Cedar Maintenance - Cladding|
Wilson School in Takapuna is one of New Zealand’s most beautiful places to learn. Built in 2008, the main building – clad from top to toe in western red cedar – won 2009’s top architecture prize, the New Zealand Architecture Medal, and the school’s trustees are committed to taking great care of it.
In 2010, they chose TimberTECH to undertake the Cedar maintenance and have begun a maintenance program that sees the Cedar beautifully protected whilst costs are minimised.
Principal Jan Kennington says it was a great decision:
The boys listened to what we needed. Cost is a concern, so rather than recoating the whole building, they only take on the areas that need doing. To add value, they have the windows cleaned while their scaffolding’s up.
The quality of their work is excellent and they clean up thoroughly when they’re done. Working with TimberTECH is easy, business like and realistic. I couldn’t be happier!
